The Judy Heumann Academy is a hybrid school designed to create educational plans that are capable of meeting the unique needs of its students, with an underlying goal of creating specialized programs to serve students with moderate to high needs due to various disabilities. In addition to creating workable education plans, The Judy Heumann Academy strives to create a comfortable homelike environment for its students, in order to assist in the educational process by decreasing the demanding nature of traditional school settings. The Judy Heumann Academy works closely with family and caregivers to put together a workable plan for each student in its trust. Kindness, compassion, and accommodation is core to the pedagogy of the Judy Heumann Academy, always being mindful of the notion that people with disabilities are human.
